STATEMENT of FAITH
The church subscribes to the doctrinal statement of the Baptist Faith & Message 2000 as adopted by the Southern Baptist Convention and the following listed core beliefs.
CORE BELIEFS:
Our Mission: is to Reach Up, Reach Out, and Reach In to the community and lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
About the Scripture:
We believe the entire Bible to be the inspired Word of God and that men were moved by the Spirit of God to the write the very words of scripture. Therefore, we believe the Bible to be true and without error. II Timothy 3:16, II Peter 1:20-21, Proverbs 30:5
About Salvation:
We believe that the blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the sole basis for the forgiveness of sin. Salvation is a gift from God to man that cannot be earned by works or deeds. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ, by faith, can this gift be obtained. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Christ into his life by faith. Romans 6:23, Ephesians 2:8-9, John 14:6
About Eternal Security:
Because of the gift of salvation is from God for man and was made possible by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, this gift cannot be lost or taken away. John 10:29, II Timothy 1:12, Hebrews 7:25; 10:10-14,I Peter 1:3-5.
About God, the Son, and the Holy Spirit:
God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three personalities: the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Ghost. These three are co-equal and are one God. Genesis1:1, 26, 27; 3:22, Matthew 28:19, I Peter 1:2, II Corinthians 13:14.
About the Church:
We believe the church is the body of Christ, of which Jesus Christ is the head. The members of the church are those who have trusted by faith the finished work of Christ. The purpose of the church is to glorify God by loving Him and by making Him known to the lost world. We are to strive for unity and love each other as God loves us. Acts 2:42-47, Philippians 2:1-18.
About the Christian Life:
We believe that every Christian should live for Christ and not for himself. By obedience to the Word of God and daily yielding to the Spirit of God, every believer should mature and be conformed to the image of Christ. The mature disciple produces other disciples thus fulfilling the great Commission. John 15:5, Luke 9:23, Matthew 28:16-20, Ephesians 2:11.
